This special-edition commemorative vehicle celebrates everything that’s been great about the Maxima nameplate for the past 40 years.
The Nissan Maxima began as a sibling of the second-generation Datsun 810 that debuted in 1980 for the 1981 model year. It was a larger version of the iconic Datsun 510 and was a nod to the Datsun Bluebird 810 of the late 1970s.
Under the hood was the engine of the Nissan 240Z and 5-speed manual transmission, an innovation at a time when a 4-speed transmission or less was the norm. It also offered a station wagon body that lasted through the 2nd generation of the Maxima that went from 1985 to 1988, which happened to be the first to offer a V6 engine & FWD.
Other highlights over the years include:
Some other brands are phasing out their sedan lineup, but the Nissan Maxima isn’t going away anytime soon! Contact Ramsey Nissan to learn more about the 2021 edition or schedule your test drive at our showroom located on the border of Bergen County NJ & Rockland County NY!
