The Nissan Rogue gave us so many improvements for 2017 and the 2018 edition keeps on giving! That’s because there are some new technologies and packages available for this award-winning SUV.
It’s already made a huge 1st impression by earning the title of Compact SUV of Texas at the Texas Truck Rodeo, which tests driveability against other vehicles in its class on and off the road. This 2018 Nissan Rogue is available at our dealership in 3 trims (S, SV & SL) and these updates affect each of these models, so you should read on to see what you can get for your money.
Go Autonomous with Nissan ProPILOT Assist
Premiering in the redesigned Nissan LEAF, Nissan ProPILOT Assist technology is the first step towards having a fully self-driving vehicle. You can also get this feature in the 2018 Nissan Rogue if you opt for the SL Platinum Package that also includes 19″ aluminum-alloy wheels & an electronic parking brake.
ProPILOT Assist automatically helps you in steering, braking and accelerating while driving in a single lane on the highway. All it takes is pressing 2 buttons to maintain lane control, navigate through stop-and-go-traffic, keeping the vehicle at a set speed & setting a distance to remain from the vehicle ahead.
This technology is comprised of a front camera to detect lane markers, steering assist to maintain the lane and intelligent cruise control to maintain speed & distance. From the looks of it, this feature will do the same during multi-lane highway driving within 2 years and city driving within 4 years for an ultimate goal of zero emissions & zero fatalities.
2018 Nissan Rogue Midnight Edition
If you want a blacked-out look for your 2018 Nissan Rogue SV, you should opt for the Nissan Rogue Midnight Edition. Besides splash guards, illuminated kickplates and Midnight Edition floor mats & badge, this special model provides the following design cues in black:
- Outside mirror caps
- Front & rear fascia accents
- V-motion grille
- Roof rails
- Cross bars
- 17” SV aluminum-alloy wheels
- “ROGUE” & “SV” rear emblems
- License plate finisher
The Midnight Edition Package is offered in 3 distinct exterior color choices: Magnetic Black, Gun Metallic & Pearl White.
Other Nissan Rogue Updates for 2018
There are several more improvements made to the 2018 Nissan Rogue, including NissanConnect coming standard with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto for smooth smartphone integration. There’s also an additional USB port in the front center console box for charging & connecting an extra device.
Additionally, a motion-activated liftgate now comes in the SV grade in additional to the SL. And the SL now equips Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Lane Intervention & Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection as standard equipment.
The option packages have also been revised, starting with the SV Sun and Sound Touring Package that now includes the content of the Premium Package.
